chapter 10 part 2

1. The unsettling thing about his journey is that he didn’t know when or where it was going to end.
2. The boys are always on the move because they want to get away from the rebels and also because they are looking for their family.
3. Ishmael's mood in the beginning of the story is depressed and worried.
4. He compares his journey to the moon.
5. When he says that everytime he accepts death he feels like part of him dies he means that he is getting more used to the fact that his time to die is coming.
6. Spiders in his culture symbolize death.
7. One of my fondest memories with my family is when we go on vacation.
8. The meat was eaten by a dog.
9. Musa’s mom was left behind and his dad went to go look for her but the village where he was at was under attack so he had to leave.
10. Alhaji was at the river fetching water.
11. Kanei escaped with his family on a boat on the Jong River but as they were leaving the rebels were shooting at them so his family fell off the boat and someone told him that his family was on the shore so he decided to keep going.
12. There houses were destroyed by RPGs and they looked for their parents but they were nowhere to be found.
13. Why was Saidu’s family unable to leave town during the attack?
14. They were raped and kidnapped by the rebels.
15. I think that the crow falling means that someone is going to die.
16. The dogs were crying because something bad was about to happen.
17. Saidu died, and they gave him a proper burial.
18. When someone dies in my culture everyone gets drunk and remembers what the person was like and sing the dead persons favorite songs.
19. I think that when the dogs were crying for no reason that was a foreshadow of saidu’s death.
